    Applied Sensor

    Applied Sensor

Sharp, clean website redesign boosts lead generation

This project was very straight forward. Long-time customer Applied Sensor, based in Germany, worked with a local designer to redesign their website and they sent it to us to turn into a Wordpress site. Working across 9 time zones, was the biggest challenge, but our late-night shift merged with the start of their day to make it possible to communicate in real-time during crucial decision points. (It helps that we do this kind of thing all the time) And so we extended the design to various page types, making sure that it worked for mobile devices and was easy to edit themselves. One surprising outcome: lead generation increased significantly with the redesign and reorganization of content.

Approximately six months after this website went live, Applied Sensor was acquired by AMS Sensor Solutions.

    Novus Modern European Design

    Novus Modern European Design

A full-featured, ecommerce site for a new, small business

Dewdrop Media was tapped to work with designer Sandra Silva to plan, design and build a new website for a Novus Modern European Design, providing the company with a web presence that would create new opportunities for growth and expansion. The big design challenge: this is a virtual furniture store. How do we get people to buy furniture without seeing it? Our solution was to provide a photo-rich site that begins the selling process, with all roads leading to either the creation of a wishlist (which the sales represenative can see) or directly contacting a representative. This site was built on Wordpress using the WooCommerce plugin.

    Everyday Zen

    Everyday Zen

CMS modernization, and migration to Concrete5

Everyday Zen Foundation had a problem: their website was built on an old version of Joomla that was no longer being supported and that was being held together by the will of one very talented, yet very volunteer member of the community. They needed to fix this problem and migrate over 1200 teaching records and related media to a new website... and they needed a solution that would make it easy to update going forward. Fortunately, since building their website, CMS's have evolved and Concrete5 offered a much-improved way of managing a site of this type. Workeing together, we moved the site to Concrete5, keeping the familiar structure the same, but positioning the site on a technology with room to grow and evolve.

SoCal design agency DISTINC threw us a challenge: could we bring their bold, cutting-edge design to life on Wordpress? LA Stage Times already had a signficant Wordpress-based site, and so it made sense to leverage that system and reskin it with something that was really quite different. We took on the challenge! Ewert Communications

    Ewert Communications

Web services in Silicon Valley, built on Concrete5

Ewert Communications has been a long-time business partner (as seen in many of the projects here) and decided that one way to walk the walk and talk the talk was to build a new website on a CMS. Sure, we have the talent and means to maintain a site without the WYSIWYG, and in-line editing features of Concrete5, but it's one thing to recommend a CMS to a customer and it is another thing to build your own site on it. So we did that for the Ewert site, making it mobile responsive and updatable by the Ewert's executive team.

Mike Baxter of Makai Design created a design that leaped from the screen, and we implemented it seamlessly into their existing web site.

    Bad Wolf Press

    Bad Wolf Press

Small, independent children’s musical company adds a full-featured blog

Years ago, Bad Wolf Press asked us to program a custom catalog for their short musical plays. As time went by, they realized that they needed a blog to offer news and tips for teachers staging performances. To help them save money, we selected a pre-built premium template and customized that template to look like their site. The end result is dynamic Wordpress blog that they are using to promote new plays, share tips and resources and make their site more relevant on social media.

    Yellow Bus

A driven, yet relaxed agency website, responsive to mobile, built on Concrete5

Yellow Bus is one of our newest business partners, and it was a lot of fun to work together on their new web site. The old site just wasn’t effective any more. They wanted a bold new presence; something that would highlight their creative, and something they could easily maintain themselves. We chose Concrete5 because of its designer-friendly architecture and the ease with which users can maintain media-rich content. Their internal team designed the site and provided the content, and with that, we built it.

    Alternative Medicine Review

    Alternative Medicine Review

    A web-based, subscription and ad-supported medical journal

For most of its life, the venerable Alternative Medical Review was supported by a benevolent corporate sponsor and print subscriptions, which permitted it to give away the online edition for free. As online news reading became more popular than print, that time came to an end. AltMed Review asked us to build a new site with a sophisticated, tiered subscription system. We recommended Joomla as the CMS, given Joomla's inherent strengths in this area, and worked with their in-house designer to build the new look and feel of the web journal. Ultimately, the journal wasn’t able to find enough people willing to transition to a paid subscription model, so we converted the system from paid-access to register-for-access.

Diagnostic web app and helpful information for DSL customers

Through our long-running relationship with ASSIA Inc., as part of our partnership with Ewert Communications, we were asked to help develop a consumer-oriented web service that brings information and diagnostic tools to DSL customers. The first version included an interactive homepage highlighting the benefits of DSL, and resource pages for everything from how DSL works, to tips for getting the best performance at home. Six months later, we upgraded the site to feature a DSL diagnostic tool built by ASSIA right on the homepage, while retaining the resources from the first phase.

    Sciton Resurfacing Challenge

    Sciton

An iPad game solution for a laser company

Sciton wanted to create a memorable, innovative trade show experience using iPads to capture doctors' attention, educate them about Sciton's resurfacing laser, and hopefully entice them to buy one. The solution, designed by our partners Tam Communications and Makai Design, and programmed by Dewdrop Media, was a custom iPad game, in the vein of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire." Doctors venturing into the trade show booth picked up one of the available iPads, played the game, and then posted their scores to large HD screens in the trade show booth, creating a bit of friendly competition among the doctors. Dewdrop Media handled the iOS game-play, the high score database, and the animated, Flash-based scoreboard that automatically updated with new scores.
